Candy and pumpkins are taking over grocery stores, so it must be time to start reading things that scare you a bit. She’s Not There is the perfect October thriller.
Amelia wakes up in the hospital and remembers nothing. She doesn’t know how she got there, why she is injured, or whom she can trust. All she knows is that she has a strong feeling of being in danger and needs to run away. Throughout the book we solve these mysteries with Amelia as her memories slowly come back.
There are some far-fetched plot pieces in She’s Not There, but I was glued to the book. It’s just asking to be read on a rainy weekend. Or maybe while you’re waiting on your trick-or-treaters.
Do you get into the Halloween mood by reading scary books? What’s your favorite?
